Troublemakers: The Story of Land Art

About the movie

By producing earthworks on a monumental scale, a group of artists in the late 60s and early 70s sought to transcend the limitations of painting and sculpture. These over-sized works still impress, as they stand in the midst of the most desolate desert spaces of the American southwest. But not only their massive size is impressive, but also the way that their artists broke any norm or limit that would come in their way of making exceptional land art.
Director James Crump debuted at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival with his piece Black White + Greym which was named a must-watch amongst artist documentaries. His latest film, Troublemakers, feature all of the greatest names in the history of land art.
