About the movie

Set over 24 hours in London, Joseph is trapped working a soulless job, living a life devoid of emotion and meaning. When his birthday goes unnoticed along with a few other strange incidents he unlocks an unhinged impulse. In a bold and reckless impulsive act of rebellion, Joseph unleashes a wilder version of himself as he goes on a journey of self-liberation in search of experiencing what if feels like to be alive.
Premiering at Sundance Film Festival 2020, Surge is written and directed by Aneil Karia. Ben Whishaw received the ‘World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting’ at Sundance for his performance.
