Documentary
Some Kind of Heaven is a documentary that follows America’s largest retirement community ‘The Villages’ in Florida with more than 130,000 residents. The film follows four of the residents - Anne, Barbara, Reggie and Dennis’ journeys within the community’s pre-packaged idyllic paradise to find their footing in the surrealistic fantasy land as they seek new purpose in life, a second chance of love, navigating the extremes of mental deterioration, happiness and meaning in life’s final chapters. Directed by Lance Oppenheim, Some Kind of Heaven is a stylized and striking portrait about the community of The Villages in central Florida. Premiering at Sundance Film Festival, the documentary is produced by acclaimed Academy Award nominated director Darren Aronofsky.
