Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, Gimme Danger chronicles the story of The Stooges, one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands of all time who shook up it by pushing it to its wildest extreme. This documentary presents the context of the Stooges emergence musically, culturally, politically, historically, and relates their adventures and misadventures while charting their inspirations and the reasons behind their initial commercial challenges, as well as their long-lasting legacy.
With numerous archive images, previously unseen photographs of The Stooges, droll original animation and accounts given by its members, Jim Jarmusch has deciphered the group's story. The director focuses on the soul and thought processes that went on behind-the-scenes. The film obviously concentrates of the figure of Iggy Pop, the charismatic leader whose exuberant displays on stage left their mark on the history of rock.
