Friendship, loyalty and dreams are being put to the test in Beyond Dreams. Mirja just got out of jail and her friends eagerly awaits her. But something has changed, Mirja slowly start to break away from her past and starts a new responsible life. While living a double life, Mirja is torn between the expectations on her from her best friends that have always stood by her side and her sick mother and younger sister who depend on her now more than ever.
A portrayal of how the leader among four best friends all the sudden want to break away from her rough past. With an emotionally powerful and highly relatable subject, this coming of age drama combines humor and wit, in the dialogue as well as in the images. ‘Beyond Dreams’ premiered at Göteborg Film Festival 2017 and won the Audience Award for Best Nordic Film and the Angelo Award.
