About the movie

Marcello lives his quiet life as a dog groomer. Small-grown and gentle, he doesn’t make much noise. That is until he finds himself in a dangerous relationship of subjugation with former boxer Simone, the opposite to Marcello’s timid self. To win back his lost dignity, Marcello commits to extract vengeance by the most terrifying means possible.
DOGMAN is director Matteo Garrone’s fourth straight movie nominated for the prestigious Golden Palm, though previous films Gomorra and Reality both had to settle with being awarded with the Grand Jury Prize. For DOGMAN, newcomer Marcello Fonte was awarded Best Actor for his magnifying lead. It is a showcase in all that Garrone is known for being the greatest in show for.
