Charlie Says

About the movie

In 1969, three young women were sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering seven people, including actress Sharon Tate. They are convinced that their crimes are part of a cosmic plan, since the infamous cult leader Charles Manson influenced them to believe that. Determined to rehabilitate their minds, graduate student Karlene Faith begins the process of breaking down the women’s delusions that Manson planted, making them face the reality of their horrific crimes.
The Manson Family murders are one of the most notorious crimes of the 20th century. Critically acclaimed director Marry Harron (American Psycho, Alias Grace, I Shot Andy Warhol), brings a new perspective to the crime, giving voice to the Manson family women rather than the already known voice of Manson. Charlie Says premiered at the 2018 Venice film festival and earned a nomination for Best Film, with an eminent cast of Hannah Murray (Game of Thrones), Suki Waterhouse (Love, Rose), Annabeth Gish (The Haunting of Hill House) and Matt Smith (Doctor Who, The Crown) as the sociopathic cult leader.
