About the movie

Set in Los Angeles 1989, Anna is an ambitious aspiring executive who works as a low-level assistant on the video show ‘Culture’ and has her eye on a promotion. Anna gets a new hairstyle in order to succeed in the image-obsessed industry she is working in. However, her flourishing career may come at a great cost when she realizes that her new hair may have a mind of its own.
From the director who brought the feature film Dear White People which received a Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Talent at Sundance Film Festival in 2014 and got adapted into a critically acclaimed Netflix series - Bad Hair is Justin Simien’s latest horror film which had its world premiere at Sundance Film Festival in 2020.
