About the movie

A Glitch In The Matrix tackles the mind-bending idea if we are living in a simulation, and the world as we know is not real? Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Rodney Asher uses a noted speech from Philip K. Dick to dive down the rabbit hole of science, philosophy and conspiracy theory. The film uses contemporary cultural touchstones like The Matrix, interviews with real people shrouded in digital avatars, and a wide array of voices, expert and amateur alike in an attempt to investigate ‘if this all is a simulation’.
Director Robert Ascher is previously and best known for the award winning and critically praised documentaries Room 237 and The Nightmare. A Glitch In The Matrix will premiere at 2021 Sundance Film Festival. US distribution by Magnolia Pictures.
“A Glitch In The matrix is a mind-scrambler in the most profound, accomplished way” – Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles
