About the movie

Following the intimate creative process in the making of PJ Harvey’s latest Grammy-nominated album The Hope Six Demolition Project, the singer travels to Afghanistan, Kosovo and Washington DC for inspiration. When returning home, she turns observations from the eye-opening journey into deepfelt music and invites audiences to participate in her unique music-making process.
A Dog Called Money comes from the producer of 20,000 Days On Earth (2014) and premiered at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival. The documentary offers unique insight into the process of PJ Harvey’s inventive and challenging music that has been continually critically appraised. Through her hybrid of alternative rock, punk blues and indie rock-music, she manages to tackle questions of global injustice in extraordinary ways.
