About the movie

In 1825 Tasmania, a young convict woman, Clare, chases her former master through the Tasmanian wilderness to avenge a terrible act of violence he committed against her and her family. On the way, she is accompanied by an Aboriginal tracker named Billy, and they unite in their hatred and trauma of their violence-filled pasts.
The Nightingale is a gripping revenge story from director Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), starring Sam Claflin (Me Before You, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and Aisling Franciosi (The Fall, Game Of Thrones). After its premiere at the 2018 Venice Film Festival, it garnered great response from critics and audiences, and received the Special Jury Prize, whereas actor Damon Herriman was rewarded the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor. The sales company for The Nightingale is FilmNation.
