About the movie

Roy Cady is diagnosed with lung cancer, but his work as a hitman for a mobster boss who wants him gone, is a more pressing concern than his terminal illness. Roy is ambushed by his boss’s assassins, but they fail in their attempt to kill him. That is when Roy discovers Rocky, a young woman being held captive by his former boss. Determined to find safety and a way to stop his boss from pursuing them, Roy and Rocky travel together to Galveston to out-run the demons from their pasts.
Based on the critically acclaimed novel “Galveston” from the creator of True Detective, the film adaption has been equally celebrated by audiences as well as critics since its premiere at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival. French actress-turned-director Mélanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds) directs her first film in English, with esteemed lead actors Ben Foster (Hell or High Water, The Messenger) and Elle Fanning (Super 8, Maleficent), with a supporting cast of Lili Reinhart (Riverdale), Beau Bridges (Homeland) and Robert Aramayo (Game of Thrones).
