Crime, Drama
The Face of an Angel is a fictive retelling of the case of Meredith Kercher, the English student who, on a study year in Italy, was murdered. Though, except from being dedicated to Kercher’s memory, Michael Winterbottoms movie is not connected to the case. Instead it goes in deep for exploration, and examination of the gruesome contradictions of humanity that are inevitable in a case of murder. Through the eyes of protagonist filmmaker Thomas, the events of the thrilling drama are depicted.
Michael Winterbottom has made himself a name by making both thrillers, reality based dramas and adaptations of pre-existing works of art. In The Face of an Angel, all is combined in this thrilling murder-piece featuring renowned Kate Beckinsale (Underworld, The Aviator) and Daniel Brühl (Rush, Inglourious Basterds), and also feature first timer Cara Delevingne.
