Timeless
Due to terrifying circumstances, a teenage girl and her younger brother find themselves stranded in the Australian outback. With barely anything with them, it will undoubtedly be a harsh test to make their way back to civilization. A test they probably would not possibly succeed in, weren’t it for an Aboriginal boy who stumbles upon them, and decides to help.
Walkabout is one considered of Nicolas Roeg’s early masterpieces, bringing him to fame together with Performance and The Man Who Fell to Earth. It also marks the beginning of the Australian New Wave cinema movement, competed at the 1971 Cannes Film Festival, and was a critical hit upon its release.
