The poetic tale of ambassador’s wife Anne-Marie Stretter. After re-marrying, and traveling all over Asia, she finally finds herself in Calcutta. Dueto the boredom of her oppressive life in 1930’s India, Anne-Marie begins to compulsively sleep with other men to alleviate her situation.
