Stephen King is not only the master of literary horror, one of the bestselling authors of all time, and a name that has been a formative force, some might say "traumatic", for more than a generation. He’s also the most adapted living author, with over 80 feature films based on his work, spanning horror classics like CARRIE (1976) and THE SHINING (1980), the original IT (1990) and its recent remake, to dramas like THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION (1990) to the coming-of-age classic STAND BY ME (1986).
